Sakaki is the Rocket Team Boss and a former Tokiwa City Gym Leader. He is a very ambitious man and is intolerant of failure. Sakaki is shown to have access to vast wealth and resources. The money probably comes from Rocket Team's main source of income — the profit of selling stolen Pokémon. Sakaki also gains a lot of money from smuggling Pokémon, Pokéball trafficking, and other crime rackets. He has Rocket Tean operations in both Kanto and Johto. He rarely meets people in person, as he prefers to communicate with his underlings via telecommunications.

Manga:
Sakaki serves much of the same role as he does in the games, although he now has Matis, Natsume, and Kyou as subordinates. However, Sakaki is much more ruthless than his other counterparts. Like in the games, he is the father of Silver.
